So just starting this blog. I guess because there are so many opinions out there and I wanted a forum to express common sense open minded views. My basic mission statement is to confront ignorance and misinformation. All opinions are welcome here. Disagreement is the basis of democracy and a beginning of a solution.

Firstly a little something I wrote called "Whats Wrong With this Country"

What’s wrong with this country and its government.

Campaign finance elimination
Currently our government is for sale to the highest bidder. Senators and Representatives need to start raising money for their re-election the minute they are elected. And as they are in office making laws and raising money simultaneously, well its easy to see the problem there. I do not propose campaign finance reform I propose campaign finance elimination. Simple, no group can donate to a candidate at all. Campaigns will be financed by tax dollars. This will save us a tremendous amount of money. It will be the citizens buying back their government from corporations and special interest groups. Each candidate will receive the same amount of money. Television and radio ads will be made as available to the candidates from national TV stations. The stations will need to supply the time equally as part of being granted an FCC license This will also reduce the quantity of TV adds to a tolerable level. If each tax payer pays five or ten dollars from their income tax that will be the money candidates have to work with. The funds will be more that enough. Also it is a test of a candidate’s skill to see how he or she spends our money in the most effective way. After all isn’t that part of their job once they get into office. Let televised debates and a candidates own web site carry the candidate’s message to the voting public. Make it illegal for any group be it a business or special interest group to donate to a political campaign. Individuals may donate their time and up to 100 dollars of their own money, but no group or business may. Corporations can keep their money and ether lower the prices on their particular product or service or increase their employees salaries. This will change our entire government. Unfortunately for this to be implemented it has to be passed by congress, the very group reaping the benefits of political contributions. No corporation or special interest ever gave money to any candidate’s campaign without expecting some return on their investment. Ive always found it odd that an incumbent goes out and campaigns. Simply by doing the job the incumbent is saying what he or she stands for. Incumbent’s shouldn’t campaign at all but that is another issue
